When a claim happens, we look beyond the cost
A claim can touch every part of a business – its finances, its operations, its reputation. At Travelers, our award-winning Claim team understands this, which is why we don't just manage the settlement. We stay focused on the broader impact throughout the whole process.
That starts with how our team works. Our people bring deep experience across a wide range of industries, and they draw on each other's expertise to make sure the right knowledge reaches the right place at the right time. From first notification through to resolution, we work closely with brokers and their clients – because collaboration isn't an add-on to our claims handling. It's how we do it.

New incidents may be reported to us in one of four ways:
- By phone using our free 24/7 claim line: +44 (0)800 587 8388
- By email to our dedicated first notification of loss address: [email protected]
- By product type: cyber, financial institutions, liabilities, management liabilities/D&O, marine (UK), motor and windscreens, professions, property, solicitors and transactional liability
- By an online form submission here
For customer convenience, we do not require the completion of a formal claim form in most instances. A few brief details including policy number, date of incident and the circumstances of the loss will be sufficient for us to set up the claim.
Let us know about your type of claim, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Awards
In 2026, Insurance DataLab awarded us the Gold award for Commercial Lines Insurer Claims Team of the Year, based on broker feedback gathered through their Commercial Lines Claim Pulse research. Brokers told them our Claim team is fast, knowledgeable and easy to work with – keeping them informed at every stage and explaining each step of the process clearly. We were also named Commercial Lines Insurer Claims Team of the Year at the National Insurance Awards 2026, and rated a top insurance claims carrier in Insurance Business UK's 5-Star Claims Awards in both 2024 and 2025, recognising our industry-specific expertise and broker-focused service.

In their own words
The best measure of a claims service is what happens when it's put to the test. Here's what brokers and clients have said about ours.
I’ve loved working with Travelers compared to our previous insurers, particularly the claims handling side on the property. They get things sorted. The motor, in the main, has been far better too. We used to get so many complaints by lack of action from both of our two previous motor insurers. We never get any complaints since being with Travelers.

Meet our Claim team
When an incident happens, you need a team that understands your business as well as the claim. Our in-house Claim team brings together legal and technical expertise across a wide range of risks, so we're well placed to manage claims from first notification through to final settlement.
We also work with our customers before incidents arise. Understanding a business's operations helps us respond more effectively when it matters most – and it means our Claim team is never starting from scratch. It's an approach brokers have recognised too. In Insurance DataLab's 2026 Commercial Lines Claim Pulse research, they described our team as fast, knowledgeable and easy to work with, and clear at explaining every step of the process.

Cyber and Motor new claims are managed as a priority within a 2 hour SLA. For all other claims we will register and acknowledge the claim within 24 hours of notification and proceed with the following:
- We will respond to any correspondence:
- from the customer or our service providers within 5 working days and
- from third parties within 10 working days.
- We will seek the agreement of the customer on the issue of liability before we confirm this to the claimant.
- We will update the customer on the present position of any claim on a regular basis as key milestones are reached. For example, updates will be made on:
- receipt of claim
- confirmation of policy liability/cover
- liability admission/denial
- further evidence received
- legal proceedings issued
- claim settlement.
- In the unlikely event that the customer or third party has a complaint, we will provide an initial response within 24 hours of receipt.
When we acknowledge your claim and confirm the claim number, we will include details of the name and contact information of the Claim Professional designated to handle your claim.
All external communications from our Claims team include the direct contact telephone number for the handler so our customers, brokers and third parties can contact us at any time to discuss their claim.
The length of a claim depends upon a number of factors, some of which are not within our control. Your claim will be handled with speed and efficiency at all times, and our Claim Professionals will keep you appraised of developments as they occur.
Your policy documentation will include a Policy Schedule that details the types of cover available to you and the limits of indemnity that apply. The limit of indemnity is the maximum paid by Travelers in a claim.
It is important to understand that insurance is designed to restore you to the same financial position you were in before the incident occurred. The purpose of your policy is to make you "whole" again following a covered loss, not to create an opportunity for financial gain. When making a claim, you should provide accurate information about your loss so we can fairly compensate you according to your policy terms and conditions.
