About Us
An established global insurer, committed to making a difference where it matters
Travelers has been supporting businesses, organisations and individuals for more than 165 years. That kind of track record doesn't happen by accident. It's built on consistent underwriting quality, strong risk management and claims handling that brokers and their clients can rely on. As the only property casualty company listed in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, we bring a level of financial stability and investor accountability that few insurers can match.
In Europe, we operate through Travelers Insurance Company Limited, Travelers Syndicate Management Limited (Syndicate 5000 at Lloyd's), Travelers Underwriting Agency Limited and Travelers Insurance Designated Activity Company. Across all of them, the approach is the same: deliver broad, high-quality coverage through broker partnerships built on trust, transparency and a genuine commitment to doing things well.
Working with Travelers
Working with an insurer should feel like a genuine partnership. We know that hasn't always been the case, and we've listened. That's why we've made a clear set of commitments to the brokers we work with — from making it easier to place business and getting you in front of our underwriters, to delivering consistent service you can rely on and showing up in person when it matters. This is how we're raising our game. And it starts with being open about what we're changing and why.
Gender pay gap
We believe people should be paid fairly for the work they do. Our approach to compensation is built on performance, not gender, with individual contribution and company results driving how awards are determined.
As a UK employer with more than 250 staff, we're required to publish:
The difference between mean and median hourly rates and bonuses paid to their male and female employees.
The proportion of male and female employees in each hourly pay quartile.
The proportion of male and female employees receiving a bonus.
Giving back, every day
Giving back is part of how we work, not something separate from it. Travelers employees contributed more than 100,000 volunteer hours in a single year, supporting causes that matter to them and to the communities around them. That kind of commitment doesn't happen by decree. It happens because people genuinely care, and because we create the conditions for it.
Our T5 committees play a big part in that, connecting employees with opportunities across areas including diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and community support. Whether through volunteering, financial contributions or sustainable business practices, we're focused on making a positive difference, not just for today but for the long term.
Recognised for inclusion
Travelers was one of the first organisations to sign the Inclusive Behaviours Pledge, and the first insurer to be awarded Clear Assured Gold status by The Clear Company, which independently audits how organisations approach diversity and inclusion in practice. The award reflects something we take seriously: recruiting and retaining talent in a way that's genuinely open to everyone.
Investor relations
Travelers is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: TRV) and is one of 30 companies in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, with revenues of approximately US$41 billion in 2023.
