As we manage through the uncertainties surrounding COVID-19, we want to assure you of our unwavering commitment to you and your customers. To help you navigate through these unprecedented times, we will provide regular updates on relevant matters.
Working from home
We recognise that many customers have arranged for their employees to work from home. We appreciate this may be for a longer period than originally planned. We will continue to cover customers for their legal liability to employees for bodily injury sustained in the course of their employment, subject to the policy terms and conditions. Customers should take reasonable precautions to prevent injury or illness. This would typically include complying with health and safety duties as far as reasonably practicable.
Customers should also inform us if they believe their policy requires adjustment as a result of equipment now being located at employees’ homes. We have produced guidance on remote working here.
We can consider requests to extend Policy Periods, where the broker is unable to contact the customer ahead of renewal. We will manage requests on a case-by-case basis and will continue to look for ways to help brokers and customers during this time.
