We have insured registered architects for many years and bring real expertise to understanding the unique features of each practice seeking cover. We insure a range of firms from sole practitioners to large multidisciplinary practices.

Policy cover
Our policy satisfies the professional indemnity wording requirements of the Architects Registration Board but we are always happy to consider bespoke wording requests for individual risks. A specimen wording can be viewed on this website but the cover can be summarised as follows:

Any One Claim limit of indemnity – so no aggregation of cover

• Civil liability arising from:
  Breach of professional duty
  Infringement of intellectual property rights
• Cyber liability
• Libel and slander
• Damage to documents
• Awards by Ombudsmen
• Breach of duty under standard collateral warranties
• Awards by adjudicators under scheme for construction contracts
• Criminal Prosecution defence costs (ConDaM Regs; HSE prosecutions)
• Compensation for court attendance in defending a claim
• Dishonesty of partners, employees and consultants
• Defence costs in addition to the limit of indemnity
• Innocent non-disclosure cover (special benefits)

Limit of indemnity
We can offer up to £10,000,000 of cover subject to application.

Excess
We can offer a range of excesses so you control the maximum amount you pay in the event of a claim.

Industry developments
By staying close to developments in contract forms liability law we can provide assistance to our Insureds and brokers in dealing with some of the problems that arise with appointments and collateral warranties.
